This years reading.

Rather than just moan on the internet to absolutely no-one, I thought I might use this page to write about things I like (and probably things I don't like too). I love to read, so the first thing I'm going to do is list the books I have read this year (so far), then I'll continue to add posts about each book I read thereafter. Maybe someone might actually read some of my posts and add their thoughts if they have read the same book, or if they have any questions, I shall endeavour to answer in a timely fashion. :D

I received a Kindle for my Christmas, so I went a bit crazy buying e-books. Unfortunately, because I was so busy during the festive season, I didn't get a chance to set it up (I was still reading a couple of other books too) until Jan 3rd. In no particular order, I have read the following since then.

1. Ghost Town (Morganville Vampires, book 9) Rachel Caine
2. Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, book 1) Charlaine Harris
3. Living Dead In Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse, book 2) Charlaine Harris
4. Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, book 3) Charlaine Harris
5. Dead To The World (Sookie Stackhouse, book 4) Charlaine Harris
6. Dead As A Doornail (Sookie Stackhouse, book 5) Charlaine Harris
7. Definitely Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, book 6) Charlaine Harris
8. All Together Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, book 7) Charlaine Harris
9. From Dead To Worse (Sookie Stackhouse, book 8) Charlaine Harris
10. Dead And Gone (Sookie Stackhouse, book 9) Charlaine Harris
11. Dead In The Family (Sookie Stackhouse, book 10) Charlaine Harris
12. A Touch Of Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, 5 short stories) Charlaine Harris
13. Song Of The Swan ~ Kelly Ferjutz
14. The Lost Daughter ~ Diane Chamberlain
15. The Bride's Baby ~ Liz Fielding
16. The Long Song ~ Andrea Levy

I am currently re-reading Little Women, and My Story: The X Factor Winners Story by Matt Cardle. They shall be numbered in a later post, once I have finished them.

As is evident from my list, I like vampire stories. I read young adult books and romance for a light read, and I enjoy reading about peoples lives. The Long Song was just my kind of book, written from the point of view of a freed slave from Jamaica, and The Lost Daughter ticked my boxes too, being about a woman who reveals her secret past nearly 30 years on after commiting a crime. Song of the Swan was a free download, and rubbish.

Well, Thats enough from me for tonight. My Kindle is calling...

Foo Fighters

I Love Foo Fighters. I think they are AMAZING. Imagine the rush of PURE JOY I experienced when I found out that they were to play in Aberdeen!!!

Like a good wee fan, I visited the OFFICIAL Foos website for details of where to get my tickets.

At 9am promptly on Friday 31st August 2007 I joined the thousand of other people fighting there way through engaged phonelines and crashed website to get my hands on the coveted tickets. I finally got through after an hour, only to discover, THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE GAVE THE WRONG PURCHASE DETAILS FOR BOTH THE SCOTTISH DATES.

By the time I was redirected to Ticketmaster, it was too late. It was Sold Out.

Thanks A Million to the Complete Fuck-Nugget who couldn't get the details right.

Weightloss

My doctor says I'm fat. I am inclined to agree, but I have a waist and can just about run for a bus without collapsing in a heap, so, I don't think I'm that bad. What really bugs me though, is the fact that she has threatened to take away my birth control pills. If I was to fall pregnant, I'd get bigger, so why not help me lose weight, rather than tell me I'm "Morbidly Obese". (I am if using that BMI index crap, but when I'm in the correct weight area for my hieght, I look like a junkie.)
Rather than just sit and let my ass grow big(ger), I joined a world famous weight loss programme where you count food as points. Waste Of Time. The week I went on a huge night out, ate heaps of chinese food and drunk copious amounts of alcohol, was the only week I lost any weight. Go Figure.
Now, I am letting my ass grow big as I contemplate the next plan. Think I'll join a gym...
